Profil Kelas Intermediate English B 1.1-1.3

Kelas IE I - Intermediate English B1 ditujukan untuk siswa yang ingin mempelajari Bahasa Inggris dari level menengah. Di kelas ini diajarkan bahasa Inggris dengan tujuan komunikasi secara mandiri dalam situasi sehari-hari.

Apa saja Kompetensi yang Ingin dicapai di Kelas IE I - Intermediate English B1?

1. Mampu berpartisipasi dalam percakapan sehari-hari di lingkungan kerja, sekolah, atau perjalanan. Dapat menyampaikan ide dan pendapat dengan cukup jelas meskipun kadang memerlukan bantuan lawan bicara.

2. Dapat memahami poin utama dalam teks-teks yang berhubungan dengan pekerjaan (job-related) atau studi (academic-related).

3. Mampu memahami informasi inti dari percakapan sehari-hari yang disampaikan secara jelas dan pelan, serta menangkap pikiran utama dari siaran radio, televisi, atau podcast.

Kelas IE I - Intermediate English B1 terdiri dari 3 sub-level (B1.1, B1.2, B1.3).

Masing-masing sub-level terdiri dari 8x materi dan durasi belajar selama 2 bulan.

Belajar seminggu sekali.

Ujian hanya diberikan di akhir level B1.3 (untuk kenaikan ke level B2).

2. People around you, everyday activities.

3. Write an informal email.

4. Sentence stress in questions, using intonation.

5. Discuss the way you spent your time.

Minggu 2-3-4

1. Past simple and Past continuous. Used to and would.

2. Childhood and upbringing. Remembering and forgetting

3. Past simple -ed endings.

4. Describe a personal memory.

5. Video and research: flashbulb memories.

Minggu 4-5-6

1. Comparatives and superlatives. Different ways of comparing.

2. Features and sights. Adjectives for describing places.

3. Stress and schwa sounds in comparative phrases, sentences stress in polite questions.

4. Speaking about travel problems. Write a travel blog.

Minggu 6-7

1. Present perfect and past simple. Present perfect simple and present perfect continuous.

2. Life events, personal qualities.

3. Strong and weak forms of have. Linking in time phrases.

4. Video and research: Charles Dickens: Writer and Campaigner.

Minggu 1-2

1. Future forms, Future clauses with if, when, unless, etc.

2. Word families, work.

3. Word stress in word families, polite intonation in questions.

4. Making a formal telephone call. Write a CV.

Minggu 2-3-4

1. Past perfect, reported speech. Using say and tell. Adverbs for telling stories.

2. Hearing the difference between past simple and past perfect in connected speech.

3. Retell a story. Video and Research: A story that rocked the world.

Minggu 4-5-6

1. -ed/-ing adjectives, the passive.

2. Entertainment and television. Extreme adjectives.

3. Word stress, sentence stress.

4. Making a social arrangement. Write a review.

Minggu 6-7

1. Polite requests, will and shall for instant responses.

2. Social behaviour, talking about norms and customs.

3. Polite intonation in requests, give tips on how to behave.

4. Video and Research: Addicted to games.

2. How gadgets work, describing everyday objects.

3. Stress in compound nouns, talking about things you couldn’t live without.

1. Making predictions, hypothetical possibilities with if.

2. Numbers and statistics, society and change.

3. Society and social issues.

4. Shifting stress in word families. ‘ll or ‘d in connected speech.

5. Balance the budget. Video and research: In orbit.

Minggu 4-5-6

1. Obligation and permission in the present and past

2. Linking words, Crime and punishment.

3. Modal verbs in connected speech.

4. Discuss new laws, expression and responding to opinions. Write an opinion essay.

Minggu 6-7

1. Could have, should have, would have. Hypothetical situations in the past with if.

2. Problems and solutions.

3. Past modal forms in connected speech.

4. Discuss dilemmas, Video and Research: life in a new country.
